Putin compares his actions to Peter the Nice’s conquests

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday in contrast his present actions to Peter the Nice’s conquest of the Baltic coast throughout his 18th-century struggle towards Sweden.
After visiting an exhibition in Moscow devoted to the 350th birthday of tsar Peter the Nice, Putin instructed a bunch of younger entrepreneurs that “you get the impression that by combating Sweden he was grabbing one thing. He wasn’t taking something, he was taking it again.”
