Thank you for choosing India Packers and Movers. This page outlines the terms and conditions that apply when you book our relocation services. These terms help ensure a smooth, fair, and transparent experience for both you and our team. By confirming your move with us, you accept and agree to the terms mentioned here.
Company and Customer Understanding
In this page, the word “Company” refers to India Packers and Movers. The word “Customer” refers to the individual or organization who books our services, regardless of whether they are the legal owner of the items being moved. “Goods” refers to the items you wish to relocate. However, some items are not accepted for transport, which we explain later in this page. “Quotation” or “Estimate” refers to the price or offer shared with you before the move begins, based on the information you provided.
Booking, Estimates, and Confirmation
All price estimates we provide are valid for 15 days from the date of sharing. These quotations are based on the details you give us, such as the size of your move, distance, special items, and type of service. If anything changes, the final cost may vary. Once you agree to the quotation and pay the advance, your booking is considered confirmed. Please note that cancellation after confirmation will result in loss of the advance amount, as that secures our resources and scheduling for your job.
Working Hours and Availability
Our standard service hours are from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, and from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sundays. We do not operate on national public holidays unless agreed in advance. However, if your move requires service beyond these timings, we can accommodate such requests only with advance planning and subject to availability.
Items We Do Not Move
For safety and legal reasons, we do not allow certain goods to be transported. These include cash, jewelry, important documents like passports or travel tickets, flammable or hazardous materials such as diesel, petrol, kerosene, gas cylinders, explosives, batteries with acid, and illegal or banned items. Please ensure that none of these are packed with your belongings. We are not responsible for any loss or legal issues arising from the inclusion of such items.
Vehicle Transport Guidelines
If you book vehicle transportation with us, certain rules apply. You must provide a copy of all relevant documents for your vehicle, and ideally, the vehicle should be registered in the name of the person receiving it. Cars should contain around 10 to 15 liters of fuel to allow basic movement during loading and unloading. For two-wheelers, fuel tanks must be completely empty to avoid spillage or damage. We are not liable for mechanical issues, leaks, or damage caused by improper fuel handling.
Site Access and Delivery Arrangements
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that both pickup and drop-off locations are accessible for our team and vehicles. If the entry is narrow, or if vehicles cannot reach the door, extra labor or alternative delivery arrangements may be required. These services may result in additional charges. If such issues arise at the time of service, and no arrangements have been made in advance, we reserve the right to delay or reschedule the move.
Scope of Services
Unless specifically mentioned in the quotation, our relocation service does not include multiple pickups or deliveries, packing or moving of potted plants, or crating of delicate items. Any extra charges such as building society permissions, elevator fees, parking fees, toll taxes, entry fees, or labor union charges will be borne by the customer. Our standard charges do not cover the use of stairs beyond the second floor if there is no service elevator. Similarly, special handling like hoisting large items through windows will be charged extra if needed.
Packing Material Policy
After the move, all unpacking materials such as cardboard boxes, plastic wrap, or tapes remain the property of the company. If the customer wishes to keep these materials, they will be charged separately. For local moves, we charge ₹75 per carton if retained. If you wish us to return and collect the materials later, an additional transportation charge will apply, with a minimum fee of ₹1500 within city limits.
Insurance Coverage
Our insurance policy does not cover damage caused by acts of government authorities or customs departments. It also excludes self-packed items, jewelry, cash, alcohol, gas cylinders, and items not declared during booking. Internal damage to electronics and appliances is not covered unless there is visible external damage. If you want extra protection for electrical or mechanical failure, it can be added at an additional premium of 3%. We also offer wooden crate packing for sensitive or high-value items at an extra cost.
Claims and Liability
If your goods are damaged during the move, we must be notified immediately upon delivery, and visible damage should be noted on the delivery sheet. Claims should be submitted in writing and are processed through our third-party insurance provider. We are not liable for damages or claims after delivery unless the condition of goods is noted at the time of unloading. Customers also agree not to hold any individual employee or agent personally liable for any damage or delays, and if such claims are made, the company is to be fully indemnified by the customer.
Payment Terms
Full payment must be made before packing or dispatch begins. Payment can be made via cash, cheque, or credit card (applicable charges may apply). In special cases, partial credit can be allowed only until delivery, based on mutual agreement. If the payment is not completed before delivery, the company has the right to withhold goods until payment is received in full.
Legal Compliance
All services are provided in accordance with the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Any disputes or legal matters arising from our services will fall under the jurisdiction of the court located nearest to our corporate head office. It is the customer's responsibility to insure their goods if they choose not to take our insurance. In such cases, it is understood that the goods are self-insured.
